Thorn Grabs Career Win 37 With Spears 125 Victory At Madera

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (June 8, 2019) – Four-time SPEARS Southwest Tour champion Derek Thorn of Bakersfield added to his long list of accomplishments with his 37th victory and 53rd fast-time in Saturday’s 125 lap event at Madera Speedway, presented by 51FIFTY LTM. Thorn’s win did not come easy as he withstood challenges from current Nut Up Pro Late Model points leader Austin Herzog, age 16 from Clovis, CA.

TULARE, CA - JUNE 7, 2019... After taking command from "The Rickster" Ricky Kirkbride on the second lap, Tristan Guardino (Fremont, CA) held off several challenges from Ryan Bernal to win the nonstop "Chris and Brian Faria Memorial." Driving the family owned #15T Dorso's Automotive / Allied Auto Stores Maxim, Guardino's USAC West Coast Sprint Car victory at Thunderbowl Raceway was his second win of the campaign. The point leader repeated as the "Faria Memorial" champion over fast qualifier Austin Liggett, Bernal, "Hollywood" Danny Faria Jr., and hard charger T.J. Smith.

Speedway, Indiana (June 7, 2019).........The Accident: It was Monday morning, March 4, 2019. USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget champion Tanner Thorson had wrapped up competing with the World of Outlaws at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway days earlier and was driving the Tri-C Motorsports hauler back to the team's Sacramento, Calif. shop.

Thorson wouldn't get a chance to complete the mission, the result of a fiery multi-car incident on Highway 99 in Modesto, Calif. that left the Minden, Nevada driver battered, broken and bruised, but, thankfully, alive.

Eureka, CA (June 4, 2019) – It will be almost a full month this Saturday since the last time cars hit the pavement on the 3/8-mile Redwood Acres Raceway oval. That will change though with racing returning for RAR’s annual Pepsi Night. All six divisions will be in action including the late models who last race in the season opening event on April 27.

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (June 4, 2019) – Two of the most prestigious short track touring series in the country will co-headline the Lucas Oil Summertime Horsepower Nationals, when the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour and Spears Manufacturing Modified Series compete at Madera Speedway on Saturday night. The Southwest Tour 125 presented by 51FIFTY LTM and the Modified Series 75 presented by K&N Filters will feature drivers from across the western United States racing for over $50,000 in prize money.

Eureka, CA (June 3, 2019) – After rain washed out the scheduled event on May 18, racing for the Humboldt Outlaw Karts returned this past Saturday for the second event of the 2019 season. As always, racing in all six divisions proved to be both exciting and intense. Humboldt County 1st District Supervisor, Rex Bohn presented the events on what was a beautiful day at the 1/8-mile dirt Redwood Acres Bullring.

Knittel Captures First North State Modified Win

Stockton CA... June 1, 2019.... Robbie Knittel of Lodi drove the Ferrari Farms #24 modified to a $1000 victory at Stockton 99 Speedway Saturday night as the North State Modified Series, presented by Protect the Harvest, completed race #4 of the 2019 Driving Out Cancer Awareness Tour. Knittel led the event wire-to-wire, holding off the challenges of Kelseyville’s Darrin Knight the entire distance to take the win. Knight was the winner the first race at Stockton earlier this season.
