Eureka, CA…...The North State Modified Series, presented by Protect the Harvest, will make its final appearance of the season at the Redwood Acres Raceway this Saturday night. A Friday afternoon practice will be held on the 3/8 mile paved oval from 4pm until 7pm. Redwood Acres Raceway is located at the Redwood Acres Fairgrounds at 3750 Harris Street in Eureka, CA.

The event will be sponsored by Blue Lake Casino and Sequoia Senior Living. The 60 lap feature will pay $1000 to win, $700 for second, and $600 for third. The Lucas Oil Dash for Cash contenders run for $100 to win and $50 for second place. In addition, the top 15 drivers will share in the $2500 Lucas Oil Tow Money program.

With only two races to go, the 2019 NSMS points battle in the closest it has ever been with only one point separating The Ferrari Racing team (drivers Robbie Knittel and Scott Winters) and the Austin Racing team (driver Cameron Austin.) Austin held the lead all season until the inaugural race in Roseburg, Oregon last month when Winters set fast time and beat Austin in the feature event by two positions.

The Ferrari Racing team saw Robbie Knittel win consecutive races at Stockton 99 Speedway and Madera Speedway. Austin won two-in-a-row at All American Speedway in Roseville and Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka. Winters, Knittel’s teammate, was the victor at Madera Speedway last month.

Other winners in the series are Randy Houston, Darrin Knight (2 wins), Kyle Tellstrom, and Jason Philpot. Knight currently sits third in the points standings with Darrin Sullivan fourth and the Deal-Elliot racing team fifth.

The North State Modified Series is presented by: Protect the Harvest, Lucas Oil, Hoosier Tire West, Sunoco Race Fuels, Naake Suspension, Five Star Bodies, Racer Bling, Keyser Racing Products, Scribner Plastics, and Franks Radios.
