Cress Leads Title Chase Heading to Evergreen

Via NWSLMS Media

Wenatchee, WA (July 15, 2019)–Alan Cress is a man on a mission as he chases the Northwest Super Late Model Series championship, which will honor his former car owner, Bruce Latta. A win at South Sound Speedway back in June propelled Cress to the top of the title standings as the series heads back into action on July 27 at Evergreen Speedway with the running of the Central Welding 125.

Not to be left out of the championship conversation, Idaho native Trevor Cristiani is a mere five points behind Cress with past champion Garrett Evans nine points off the leader, but only one point ahead of fourth place Chad Hinkle.

Overall 17 points separate Cress from fifth place Trenton Moriarty with plenty of racing left in the season. Any of the top-5 drivers can still race their way to the championship with Jefferson Pitts Racing Rookie of the Year candidate, Tristan Haider, lurking in sixth place on quietly building top-10 finishes in his first season on the series.

Christopher Kalsch, Jessie Jensen, Tayler Riddle and Mitch Kleyn hold positions seven through ten heading to the July 27 series event.

The Central Welding 125 features the best super late model drivers from across the Northwest battling it out on Evergreen Speedway’s top-notch .375-mile oval. With one of the best handling tracks on the circuit offering close racing and exciting finishes, the Central Welding 125 is the pinnacle mid-summer race for the NWSLMS as it heads towards its second half of the season.

Evergreen’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Saturday night late model stars will be out to defend the home turf as an added feature of the Central Welding 125 as the competition on the track brings together so many of the Northwest’s best in one race.
