The North State Modified Series (NSMS), presented by Protect the Harvest, returns to Lakeport Speedway this Saturday night, May 6, for race number two of it's 11 event schedule. The series did not visit the Lake County facility in 2016, and Saturday will be the only time this year the NSMS drivers will be competing on Lakeport's tight quarter-mile oval.

The NSMS season opener at All American Speedway last month produced 26 cars with local driver Darrin Knight of Kelseyville the big $1000 winner. Knight is a two-time NSMS champion, winning the title in 2015 and 2016, and will be at Lakeport to defend his title and protect his points lead.

The North State Modified Series will join the Nor-Cal Pro-4 modifieds, plus the Lakeport Speedway bombers, bandoleros, Legends Cars and drifters. For more information on the NSMS series, visit the North State Modified Series Facebook page or NorthStateModifieds.com web site.
