SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (June 2, 2016) – Meridian, ID's Bryan Warf made the most of a fill in opportunity on Monday, taking the #8 Royal Purple / Learnport Beast Rex Hutchison Chevrolet to victory with the Orchex King of the Wing Western Sprintcar Series. The victory at Rocky Mountain Raceway in Salt Lake City, UT came after driver Dylan Hutchison was unable to compete due to a hand injury unrelated to racing.

Warf came on board with Glenn Hutchison Racing after sitting behind Rex Hutchison Racing Engines-powered Sprint Cars throughout his career. Warf usually drives the #91 for Pat Russell that will be in action in this weekend's Diamond Cup at Meridian, ID.

20 Western Sprintcars were in action for the series' debut at the 3/8ths mile high banked oval. Warf wasted little time getting up to speed in the All Valley Towing-sponsored car by leading both practices. A 13.074 second lap at 103.258 mph in qualifying placed Warf third in time trials. After running second in his heat race it was time for the 30 lap feature.

Warf pushed off from the fifth position and immediately leapt past Lonnie Adamson for fourth on the opening lap and points leader Eric Humphries a lap later. Warf overhauled both TJ Thorne and Ryan Burdett on lap two to take the lead on lap three. He lowered his best lap at the facility down to a 13.070 second lap on lap 23 of the feature.

The .647 second victory for Warf goes along with a third place finish and a heat win for Dylan Hutchison in the series points opener at Madera on March 19th. Glenn Hutchison and car #8 now rank second in the owners points for the Orchex King of the Wing Western Sprintcar Series. Dylan Hutchison is expected to also miss the June 11th "Madera Western Super Sprints" event with a replacement driver to be announced soon.

Royal Purple is based in Porter, Texas and produces a wide range of high performance lubricants for nearly every consumer and industrial application. Round #1 of the King of the Wing Western Sprints airs on MAVTV on Thursday night June 9th at 5 p.m. Pacific / 8 p.m. Eastern Time as part of the "Madera Racing" motorsports show. The event will be paired with the inaugural race for the Jr. Late Model division in an hour long broadcast.
