Wet Forecast Cancels Saturday’s Humboldt Outlaw Kart Event

Eureka, CA (May 14, 2019) – The scheduled Humboldt Outlaw Kart races that were scheduled for this Saturday May 18 have been cancelled. A wet forecast through the rest of the week including the high probability of rain on Saturday and the likelihood of racers from out of the area attending forced HOK officials to make the unfortunate decision earlier in the week than usual.

The race was scheduled to be the second event of the season for the outlaw karts at the 1/8-mile Redwood Acres Fairground Bullring dirt track. The season opener was held earlier in the month on May 4. The 2019 season is the first that a season long points champion will be crowned in each division and the unfortunate loss of the race scheduled on Saturday cuts the number of points paying events down to five.

Aaliyah Mitchell leads the standings in the Champagne Attorney Service beginner box stock class over Adam Myer, Colin Wolfe and Raylan Ross. The Williamson Financial Group box stocks featured some high speed and ultra-competitive racing in the season opener. Grant Proctor leads Dylan Combest by four points with Janice Walters, Corbin Green and Jack Myer completing the top five.

Nick Ford is a seasoned veteran on the 3/8-paved oval and he will likely be the driver to beat every week in the Fortuna Wheel & Brake fart karts. Jeffrey Smith is only two points behind him though. The Miclette Family Motorsports pure stocks should have a very interesting points battle. Leonard Ward leads Chris Lawrence while Pete Miclette, Jordan Miclette and Michael Lawrence hold down the top five in the standings.

Dryver Dothage is not only a rising star in the Wes Green Landscaping 250cc division for the Humboldt Outlaw Karts, he is also one of the rising stars in the Northern California racing scene period. Dothage holds the advantage in the 250s over four young female racers, MKinzy Uselton, Maleesa Miles, Sonya Osborne and Lily Williamson. Tony Miles has a one point advantage over Dax Williamson in the Nor Cal Automotive 500cc outlaws.

The next race for the Humboldt Outlaw Karts is on Saturday, June 1. For more information including the full 2019 season schedule and up to date results and point standing information visit www.HumboldtOutlawKarts.com or go to Facebook #/HumboldtOutlawKarts/
